We all remember the horror stories of old, don't we; the legendary stories of vampires and werewolves written by the Masters of Horrors, for example, Guy De Maupassant and Théophile Gautier?

Giving children the gift of reading is the greatest gift you can give. When parents spend quality time, reading to a child the whole family benefits. By adding a plush book character for the child to snuggle with, you have added another link to the magic of books. I have seen the love affair that children have with certain books so I have selected as many of these favorites as I could.

Paul Bragg is also known as the "Father of America's Health Movement". He was a worldwide lecturer and advisor to Olympic Athletes, Royalty and Stars. Dr. Paul Bragg authored 22 Health Books and was the originator of Health Food Stores and Founder of the Health Movement! He is responsible for more firsts in the history of Health than any other individual.

The seventh and final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, made references to a book called The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Following the last Potter book, author J. K. Rowling created six handwritten copies of the tales, illustrated by herself. Standard and collector's editions released on December 4, 2008

Nevada Barr created Anna Pigeon while working at Guadelupe National Park in Texas, the setting for "Track of the Cat." Most of her mysteries involving the middle-aged ranger are set in different national parks from New York to Florida to northern Michigan to California.

Molly Ivins, known for her sharp wit and keen sense of observation, was a newspaper columnist and author of several best-selling books on politics. Her first book, "Molly Ivins Can't Say Than, Can She?" was on The New York Times bestseller list for more than a year. She co-authored hree books on George W. Bush with Lou Dubose.

Spider Robinson is a science fiction author best known for his stories of Callahan's saloon, its regular patrons, and the two bars that succeeded it. Robinson combines humor and science fiction elements in these stories. The motto of Callahan's is "Shared pain is lessened; shared joy is increased."

Allen Steele is a science fiction author born in Nashville, Tennessee. He now lives in western Massachusetts. He has written of humankind's ventures into Earth orbit, to the Moon, Mars, and the asteroid belt. He has also written a series about the colonization of a moon, Coyote, orbiting a gas giant planet 46 light years from Earth.

I am writing about Twilight because my daughter has been obsessed with this new Vampire series. I am dedicating this lens to Jaimie. I hope she enjoys it as much as I do.
